Biography

Luke High started out his musical career playing piano. He achieved his grade 5 conservatory and grade 2 rudiments before deciding to move onto other avenues in music. While attending Queen’s University Luke was a DJ performing in the Kingston community and opening for acts such as Team Canada DJs and Pocket Dwellers, as well as teaching fellow students how to DJ as vice president of a DJ club at Queens. Luke also learned how to move to music as a member of the Recreational Breakdance Club, where he would select, edit and mix music for the choreographed dance routines of the Qkids breakdancing crew (eventually becoming president of both RecBreak and Qkids).

After completing his Biology degree, Luke decided instead to follow his passion and learn about recording. A year later he graduated at the top of his class in the Audio Engineering program at the Trebas Institute in Toronto. Luke has been an active member of the music industry in both Toronto and Kingston for many years. He has worked with artists such as The Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip, Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Cockburn.
